Steve Fetrow- Elected President of the Old Dominion Chapter in August of 2007, Steve is a graduate from Florida Southern College with a BS in Business Administration. A former nationally ranked wheelchair racer and tennis player, Steve's passion is to see that others' have the opportunity to enjoy the many adaptive sports and recreational options which now exist. Steve was past President of RAD Sports (Richmond Athletes with Disabilities). His passion to promote both competitive and recreational capacity sports and recreation opportunities now has Steve actively involved with Sportable - A Richmond based not for profit organization focused on providing recreation and sports opportunities for individuals with physical disabilities in the Richmond area.

Craig Fabian Re-Elected to Vice President of the Old Dominion Chapter in August 2007 Craig has been active in the disability field for more than 16 years. A graduate of Ramapo College of NJ with degrees in Business Administration and Economics, Mr. Fabian has helped bring disability awareness to the forefront. He has worked for Federal and State programs organizing conferences and workshops promoting Assistive Technology for the disabled. Since becoming disabled due to a spinal cord injury in 1969, Craig is constantly striving to bring equal access to the disability community. He has served on both civic and religious committees and has become well known for advancing disability rights. Craig has volunteered more than 15 years as a Peer Educator to recently spinal cord injured individuals. He has also served as a scout leader for the Boy Scouts of America and is a recipient of their "Profiles in Courage" award.

Mandy Sent, CPA - Mandy has replaced Barbara Gibbs as Treasurer for the Old Dominion Chapter, as Barbara has moved to Blackstone, Virginia and opened her own accounting firm. Mandy is a Supervisor at Goodman & Company, LLP, having worked there about a year and a half. She moved to Virginia from Ohio where she worked at a small accounting firm. She graduated cum laude with both a Bachelor's of Science in Accountancy and a Master's in Accountancy at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She is a licensed certified public accountant in both Ohio and Virginia. She is also a member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants, Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Shawn Floyd - became involved in working with people with spinal cord injuries in 1999, after sustaining a T6 complete SCI in a motor vehicle accident while studying at Radford University in 1998. He returned to Virginia Commonwealth University and received his B.S. in Criminal Justice in 2000.

In July, 2005 he was hired as Executive Director of the Old Dominion Chapter of the National Spinal Cord Injury Association. For the prior two years he served as President and had also previously served as Secretary. Since June 2005, Shawn has also served as the Vice-President of Chapters for the National Spinal Cord Injury Association. Prior to working for the Old Dominion Chapter he worked for Virginia Commonwealth University Health System's Model Spinal Cord Injury Program as both a consultant and Research Specialist. There he developed the "Introduction to Computer Skills and Job Search Training" program for persons with spinal cord injuries.

Shawn serves as a mentor to those with new injuries, volunteers at local rehabilitation hospitals and is a member of the Charlottesville Cardinals wheelchair basketball team, Sportable, Richmond's Adaptive Sports and Recreation group, Buckmasters American Deer Foundation disabled hunters, and The National Wild Turkey Federation Wheelin' Sportsmen.

Jason Blackwell - A C-5/6 quadriplegic as a result of a motorcycle accident in 2002; at the age of 21, Jason returned to college at John Tyler CC. He received his Associates degree in 2005 and is a now a senior (class of 2007) at the University of Richmond studying history and education. He has helped in numerous volunteer opportunities educating the community and those who have sustained spinal cord injuries. In the future, Jason is planning on pursuing a graduate degree in Administration and aspires to one day become a principal. Jason served as Vice President of the Old Dominion Chapter from 2003 - 2006.

Keith Enroughty - Keith Enroughty has worked in the rehabilitative field for over 13 years. After finishing his rehab program at Woodrow Wilson Rehab Center, he started serving individuals with disabilities in the community-based services unit at the Virginia Department of Rehabilitative Services. He is also a board member of the Virginia Association for Persons in Supported Employment (VA-APES) and recently was appointed to the Chickahominy Disability Services Board.

Michael Chenail - Michael Chenail is the founder of Compliance Alliance. As a widely recognized leader in the disability community he is dedicated to creating awareness of social and architectural obstacles and unconscious discrimination of those with disabilities. Four years, post spinal cord injury, resulting form a motorcycle accident in 1985, Mr. Chenail began his work in the disability field in 1989. Michael comes to the Old Dominion Chapter of the National Spinal Cord Injury Association with many years of service to the disability community. He has worked with businesses, community organizations, and local government agencies assisting in the recognition and resolution of accessibility issues.

Michael is an avid outdoorsman, as well as a member of the Charlottesville Cardinals wheelchair basketball team, The National Wheelchair Pool-players Association, and The National Wild Turkey Federation Wheelin' Sportsmen. When he is not advocating in the boardroom, or participating in one of the many sports or recreational opportunities available to people with disabilities today, Michael is diligently working within the community… advocating for change. Michelle Meade - Dr. Michelle Meade is an associate professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Virginia Commonwealth University where she serves as director of Spinal Cord Injury Research. She received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Ohio University and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in clinical rehabilitation psychology at the University of Michigan Medical Center. Dr. Meade is currently licensed to practice in Virginia and specializes in rehabilitation psychology and the treatment of persons with Spinal Cord Injury. In addition, she has working as a substance abuse counselor in specialty programs for women, adolescents and persons with dual diagnosis.

Dr. Meade has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles related to basic and clinical sciences and has presented at Spinal Cord Injury, Rehabilitation Psychology, Women's Health, and Behavioral Medicine Conferences. She is an active member in the American Psychological Association's Division of Rehabilitation Psychology, the American Spinal Injury Association, and the American Association of Spinal Cord Injury Psychologists and Social Workers. Dr. Meade serves on the editorial boards for Rehabilitation Psychology and Topics in Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation, and is on a standing panel to review grants for the National Institute of Disability and Rehabilitation Research. She is also the primary investigator on a grant assessing the needs of Virginians with traumatic Spinal Cord Injury and the co-founder and coordinator for PosAbilities Unlimited, an Adaptive Recreation Organization.

As ODC's immediate past President 2006-2008, we thank Michelle for her continued commitment and dedication to the Board of Directors and the Old Dominion Chapter of the National Spinal Cord Injury Association.

Matthew Deans - sustained a T12/L1 SCI in a car accident in July of1998 at the age of 16. He realized that as a person with a disability he was now part of a community that needed a lot of help and advocacy to obtain equal opportunities. Since his injury, he has volunteered his time to the Youth Leadership Forum of Virginia, sponsored by the Virginia Board for Persons with Disabilities where he reaches out to other young persons with disabilities and helps them to discover their true potential. He worked for a number of years as a Transition Coordinator at the Endependence Center in Norfolk, VA. He received his B.A. in Psychology from Christopher Newport University in December of 2005. He is currently enrolled in the Rehabilitation Counseling Graduate program at Virginia Commonwealth University. He also works full-time for The Choice Group as a Vocational Technician.

Monroe Ricks - was injured in a motor vehicle accident in 1959. He has lived for more than four decades with a T1-2 SCI. Injured at a time when there were few resources for those with disabilities, he knows first-hand the importance of a positive attitude and self-advocacy skills. He worked full time until retiring from Bond Vacuum and Sewing Center in 1989. He is a long-time member of the Old Dominion Chapter and HIGH Hopes.

John Sharp - John was injured in a go-carting accident in May 1993. Nevertheless, it certainly didn't dissuade him from going right back to the sport. With the help of friends John returned to racing in 1996 with a cart designed to be driven with only hand controls. In 1997 he won the track championship at Capital City Speedway in Ashland, VA. John is an active member of the Old Dominion Chapter and has been for many years now. John has played in both of our golf marathon fundraisers, is a regular at the roundtable discussions for patients with new injuries at VCU Health Systems, and is always willing to help in any way that he can.
